Therapy for Body Image Issues

It’s maddening that we live in a world that tells us there’s something wrong with our bodies. You deserve a safe haven where you can tune out those messages, untangle the complexities of body image and work towards cultivating a positive relationship with yourself.

Let’s figure out coping skills to filter out societal messages to shrink that fit your needs, and redefine your standards of beauty. Body acceptance is a lifelong practice you can learn so you’ll have deeper appreciation for your inherent worth and all-around awesomeness.

Therapy for Grief & Loss

Grief is so peculiar. It’s a universal experience – we’ll all experience loss – but when you’re in it, it feels very isolating.

I offer space to express your feelings, tell your story, maybe make sense of the senseless, and hopefully, figure out what next.

Specific types of grief and loss I can help you with include:

  • loss or anticipated loss of a beloved companion animal (pet loss)
  • environmental grief and eco-anxiety related to the changing climate
  • grief after death from suicide

Therapy for Disordered Eating

The complexity and contradictions of eating disorders can be represented multi-dimensionally to better capture feelings and beliefs that exist simultaneously – like mixed feelings about recovery.

Recovery can be a slow process, so slow it can feel like there’s no movement at all. Art therapy offers a visual record of changes, even small ones, that show progress over time.

It’s still therapy, so sometimes it’s emotionally intense, but making art can be fun. Fun means reducing anxiety and easing depression. You might feel a boost in confidence and be more receptive to your capacity to change.
